Santa Margarita sits along the original El Camino Real at the bottom north side of the Cuesta Grade, 11 miles north of San Luis Obispo. 225 miles south of San Francisco and 199 miles north of Los Angeles. Only one exit from US101, Exit 211, CA58 leads the 1 mile into town. CA58 passing through it is also known as El Camino and G Street. Santa Margarita can be reached from Atascadero on the El Camino.
